No More Chicken Wings
MM feels that both Frankie and I have been acting more scratchy than the other 'normal' dogs (though we are 'normal' too). Thus, she has decided to stop the daily feeding of chicken wings for a start of two weeks. OMG, this is really a piece of bad news for us! Though MM has promised to resume the feeding after the two weeks' trial, I could not help but feeling the experiment might be prolonged. :((
"Dearest Chicken Wings, I will miss you all.
In fact starting from this moment....."
Ai ya, not this type of chicken wings...

Paw's Fish Balls
When it comes to weekend, we will have home-cooked food, instead of barf. Today, we had steamed fish and pig liver for dinner!
I LOVE FISH!
Hmmm... fish is okay... but I LOVE PIG LIVER MORE!
However, it turned out that the food amount was a bit too much for a meal. As she did not want us to end up with a super round tummy again, MM decided to keep the other half portion for our next dinner. In order to minimize the 'fishy smell' on our muzzle furs , MM did something to improvise our next meal a little bit. Guess what? We are having 'Fish Balls' tomorrow!
Our Paw's Fish Balls
~ Paw's Fish Balls ~
Ingredients:
1) Leftover food - steamed fish and pig liver with ginger and wolfberries
2) Peas, carrot, water chestnut, chinese parsley and potato
3) Solid Gold seameal
Method:
1) Boil potato and mash it
2) Cut the carrot and water chestnut into small cubes
3) Chop the chinese parsley finely
4) Steam the carrot and peas for about 10 minutes
5) Mix the leftover food, mashed potato, steamed vegetables, chopped chinese parsley, water chestnut cubes and a teaspoon of Solid Gold seameal well in a big bowl
5) Place 2 tablespoons of the mixture onto one palm and roll it into a ball shape with two hands
6) Cool well before keeping the balls in the fridge
Bon Appetit!

Back to Soup Soup Day!
We had soup for breakfast today!
MM had cooked us soup of super-sized water-cress meatballs with water chestnuts and carrots. She had decided to start our soup nourishment programme again, after a 7-month rest. Though we can only have such soup during the weekend, I guess it is better than nothing. Mmmm... meatballs, spare ribs, chicken legs, fish fish... I MISS you all very very much! :D

Heaty = Cooling Time
MM ransacked the fridge and found some suitable ingredients to make our cooling herbal drink - dried chrysanthemum and chinese barley. The humans in the family also drink that occasionally, especially when they feel heatiness. Besides having a cooling effect on the body system, Chrysanthemum also detoxifies the blood, calms the nerves and sharpens vision. Chinese barley is said to be more effective than the western barley. In fact, barley is a superb source of dietary fiber. It is high in selenium which is an important antioxidant. It also clears heat and detoxifies.

Something New Something Good
MM had been so busy in the past 2 weeks that she hardly had time for Wynn Wynn and me. But today, she's at home with us! *Hurray*
After our morning walk, MM went marketing for our weekly food supply. Guess what she had bought for us? They are DUCK WINGS! MM said it must be our luck for it was not easy to chance upon fresh duck wings in the neighbourhood dry market. Besides that, MM had also bought kunning fish. Hmmm... that sounds another something good. MM said it shall be a new test for us as we would be eating the fish as a WHOLE. WOW!!!
Kunning fish, beef, lamb, duck wings... HEY, no offals?
We are WATERDOGS!!!
Wynn Wynn - savouring her fish slowly... unlike Me!
Chop chop fast fast... I am actually a polar bear in disguise!

New BARF Meat
MM went marketing early this morning, for she could not do that on Sunday. Besides the usual chicken wings, MM had introduced a new meat into this week's BARF menu. We are having beef muscle meat and liver! Well, both Frankie and I have not tasted beef before. But the humans always say beef steak is nice and juicy. Hmmm.... our new menu sounds yummy! Let's also hope our body system can take the new food. Only then we can venture to try the others, like mutton or perhaps crocodile meat?

Go BARF
Yes, today is the day. MM said we would start on a new diet today, which is known as BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food). Huh? What's that? The name sounds strange to our ears, but Wynn Wynn and I believe it must be something goodie. Furthermore being a modern adventurer, we always welcome any food idea! Ok, most importantly, the food must be edible and nice... :)
For a start, MM prepared a variety of vegetables and blended them into a errr... a bit weird green mixture (Yucks!). Next, she chopped different raw chicken parts into some sizes and shapes, weighed them as according to a calculated ratio before packing them up into individual ziploc bags. Due to our low activity level, MM decided our daily food intake shall be 3% of our body weight. Each packet of meat and bones would make up 60% of our meal. The remaining 40% would be vegetables and offals. But as we were going to switch over to BARF cold turkey, MM would not include offals right away. She wanted our individual body system to get used to raw food first. We see, we see.... *Nod nod*
Well, let's take my current weight (4.8 kg) as an example:
Meal amount per day
= 3% x 4.8
= 0.14 kg
Amount of RMBs (Raw Meaty Bones) in the meal
= 60% x 0.14
= 0.086 kg ( which consists of 60% meat and 40% bones)
Hmmm... in that case, wouldn't Wynn Wynn be eating MORE than me?!?!!!!! *Pouts*
Different greens, one yellow and one white... ready to be CRUSHED!
Our weekly supply of blended green food
Lastly, it's ATTACK TIME! Yoghurt was served as an appetizer. When the main course came, MM handfed us the bones (chicken back and wing) first. Surprisingly, Wynn Wynn and I handled that very well. We had passed the first test with flying colours! Heehee...
Our new raw diet - with a healthy doze of fish body oil, vitamin E and C
Well done!
Well, though everything seemed to be going smoothly, the next critical test would be the detox results. Due to that, MM had also decided to stop giving us our weekly soup in the meantime. We heard that the most common symptoms of detox include vomiting, LS, bad breath and itchy skin. Hmmm... hopefully we would overcome all possible hurdles. Jia you, JIA YOU!!!

Soup Of The Week
We had soup for breakfast again! This time, MM cooked us watercress with red dates. Red dates are supposed to improve blood circulation, while watercress is renowned as a spring-cleaning herb to purify the blood and toning the whole body system.
~ Our soupy breakfast ~
As usual, we finished every bit of it. I realised I actually like soup a lot. No wonder there is such a saying - "Anytime is a perfect time to satisfy your soul with a piping hot bowl of broth based soup." Though we cannot take piping hot soup, Frankie and I are just as satisfied with a bowl of soup at normal room temperature. Furthemore MM's soup always contains my most favourite - pork ribs!
The humans in the family believe certain soups have healing power, especially when using some Chinese medicine and/or herbs. The approach of using Chinese medicine is based on the concept of Yin and Yang, the two forces that rule the universe. Yin refers to the feminine and cooling forces, while Yang represents the masculine and hot forces. Although the two forces are seen being different, they are actually meant to complement each other in reality. As for herbs, they can be some plant spices, seeds and staple veggies like broccoli. Herbs are well-known for their various vitamins and minerals, as well as therapeutic and medicinal uses.
Though MM is not sure of how beneficial the soup can be for us, she just hopes every bowl of lovingly prepared soup will still have the ability to comfort and bring us more joy. Oh yes, we are definitely happy to have such new food in our diet. Our eat-&-lick-the-bowl-till-super clean has told the truth. Thus, please give us a BIGGER bowl of that on next Saturday!

A Happier Saturday
As promised, MM started the day by bringing us for a morning walk. It was a cool morning at 7 am and the air was truly refreshing. We had a great workout for we really panted like MAD after a walk round the Seashell Park!
RUSH HOUR!!!
Habitual practice - Exploring around the place...
Still exploring...
Not even letting off Lamp Post No. 456 at row #3
At last! High time to pee...
Also high time to poo...
Sweaty after all the 'hard work'... Luckily it was a windy morning!
Finally it's time for REST!
Later, MM cooked us nice soup for breakfast. It's just like ABC soup but it was yummy! Frankie and I finished every single bit of it, including the vegetables. I am glad that breakfast is not those boring dry kibbles after all. Heehee!
Our healthy breakfast - ABC soup!
And what was for dinner? It was PORK CHOP! My most favourite! I guess birthday wish does come true after all. Yay!!!
Heavenly...

MM's Home Cooking
MM did a brave deed today. She actually took over the apron and spatula from Grand Auntie to prepare dinner for the whole family!
WARNING: MM is not a typical good cook. Strictly speaking, her cooking history is brief though she does know how to differentiate between sugar and salt. So far only Wynn Wynn and I will humour her by finishing up the food that she cooks for us. We are actually the BRAVER ones! *Heehee...*
