The Little Vampire

OH GOSH! A TICK was found on Wynn Wynn's head this morning!

When Hui Jiejie removed the living fatty eight-legged insect, a tiny wound had already been formed on Wynn Wynn's head. To play safe, Wynn Wynn was thoroughly scrutinized for any other wounds or more of such little vampire. Seemed like this tick had been eating, sleeping and resting well on Wynn Wynn, as if it had checked into a 5-star hotel!

With eight legs instead of six, the tick is cousin to the spider, with a penchant for spreading disease as it feasts on mammal blood. It is actually a real little nasty critter that catches the unsuspecting dog, crawls up to the dog's bare skin, buries its head under the skin layer and proceeds to drink all the blood it can get! An embedded tick will look like a small black or brown pimple. Thus when a small lump is felt on the dog, always pulls the furs apart to investigate it further. Luckily Hui Jiejie did not dismiss the "black pimple" on Wynn Wynn's head. Perhaps it was this tick that had caused those swelling on her under belly a few days ago! *GRRRRrrrr....*

This is the very first time a tick was found in the family, and we hope this would be the last time too. In our past walks at the parks and fields, we did not have any encounter with ticks before. Hence MM could not understand how a tick could manage to stay on Wynn Wynn when we had not even gone for any walks since last Saturday! This is really puzzling... Anyway the tick had "checked out". Wynn Wynn is once again the happy-go-lucky glutton dog! Hiak hiak!

Amazingly Cured!

MM woke up early this morning to check on Wynn Wynn's "lumpy wounds". Amazingly, all the lumps were gone! *Phew*

I must say either Wynn Wynn's body constitution is very strong, or perhaps this girl's ladyluck is really good! Otherwise, it must be the credit by Snake Brand's prickly heat powder. This stuff is actually quite helpful in some healing. MM used it on my red rash and it was recovered within a few days! At times, it helps in making me feel more comfortable and less itchy on a humid hot day. Nevertheless, we are glad that our Princess Pui Pui is no longer lumpy! :p

Oh yes... the culprit is still not found yet. Could it be Wynn Wynn was allergic to Don Don's saliva after all?

Lumpy Wynn Wynn

No, no... not that Wynn Wynn has grown fatter again. In fact, LUMPS were found all over her under belly in the middle of the night!

Out of no reason, Wynn Wynn suddenly scratched herself vigorously non-stop. She even whined as if she was in pain! MM quickly woke up to check on her. To her horror, she found big lumps all over Wynn Wynn's under belly, including some small ones under her front limbs! OH GOSH! This was quite shocking for we never saw such a skin reaction before. Each lump was like a swelling caused by a mosquito's bite, except it was much bigger, redder and felt like a hard pebble! With no further hesitation, MM cleaned the infected area with cold water and applied Snake Brand's prickly heat powder (which is anti-bacterial). After a while, Wynn Wynn seemed to have calmed down. Perhaps she was simply exhausted by this sudden outburst.

The lumps most probably were caused by an insect's bite. But who could this Mighty Guy be? Wynn Wynn's size is almost 1000 times bigger than a typical insect. Even her nose size alone can win an adult cockroach! Therefore, this Mighty Guy is really quite a powerful fellow to have caused such an impact on our Fatty Bom Bom. This is dangerous.... we must catch the culprit soonest, before any one of us becomes his next victim! But.... *Yawnz* Perhaps we should get some sleep first. *Sleepy eyes...*

Mr Don Don

Ling Jiejie's friends came to our place today. Besides bringing big mandarin oranges for CNY greetings, they had also brought along a BIG furry friend, Mr Don Don!

Cheerful Don Don

Don Don is quite a cheery chubby fellow. He is a black-and-white Shih Tzu, with a black patch around his right eye (so unique!). Though both of us are Shih Tzu, Don Don is actually almost thrice bigger than me! The humans were very taken to Don Don. They thought he was a super well-behaved mini sheepdog! Hmmm... The humans always say me fat. Hence if 1 Don Don = 3 Wynn Wynn, doesn't that make Don Don a GODZILLA?!?!! Haha!

Oh well, at least Don Don is so much cuter than that Cranky Frankie, who only knows how to bark and bite! Guess what, Frankie had actually 'escaped' from MM's arms and ran up to 'attack' one of Ling Jiejie's friends! Luckily the victim did not suffer any serious injuries. But I think she would have developed "Seriously-Scared-of-Frankie" syndrome from today onwards. As for Frankie, he was punished to stay in MM's arms for as long as the guests were in the house. Poor Frankie... he could only watch (stare at) me and Don Don play 'Catching' in the house. I ended up having a zealous follower. The results? I was WET from Don Don's saliva that was all over me!

We played together...

.... till Don Don was totally infatuated with me! *OH NO*

Home Alone

Frankie and I were home alone today. Not that we were undergoing some training on house guarding, but the humans had actually forsaken us for a visit to the National Museum! Without US! *GRRrrrr...*

Actually we do understand pets are not allowed at the premises. In fact most public places in Singapore do not really welcome pets. That is sad, but we could not do much to improve the situation. Anyway MM did share with us some photos and stories of the exhibitions that they had visited. Camera flash is not allowed in the galleries, but some photos did turn out quite clearly. Furthermore we were given some nice treats as compensation. Ok, we shall forgive them! Heehee...

The humans went to see the Greek Masterpieces from the Louvre. There are four galleries which exhibit a fine selection of 130 sculptures, figurines, reliefs, vases and jewellery. The normal display at The Louvre was according to the material type. But this time at the National Museum of Singapore, the exhibition is arranged thematically an overview of Greek civilisation at its political and artisitic height in the so-called Classical period (5th to 4th centuries BCE). The exhibition galleries comprise of

1. Athens in the Classical Period

2. Living in Ancient Greece

3. Agon: The Spirit of Competition

4. Religion: Of Gods and Heroes

MM hopes she could visit The Louvre one day. That would make another purposeful trip at Paris, other than visiting the main attractions like Eiffel Tower, Paris cabarets and shopping for more LV bags. Well, Paris sounds good. Are pets welcome?

GONG XI GONG XI!!!

It's New Year again! MM said today is the beginning of Rat Year. It is also known as Chu Yi (初一), the first day of the first lunar month in Chinese calendar.

Chinese New Year is celebrated by ethnic Chinese. It is actually the longest and most important festival of the year. Hence the humans in the family had been busy with the preparations to welcome the new year, starting from spring cleaning, decorating the house, to buying new stuff like clothes and food. As for Wynn Wynn and I, we also helped in the preparations. We MADE SURE that we did not get into the way when the cleaning was in process. :P

祝大家:

鼠年快快乐乐

恭喜恭喜!!!

Our CNY Present

Frankie and I have a new present, which is a BED! It looks actually like MM's, except it is 100 times smaller. That is logical for our size is definitely 100 times smaller than MM's! Hiak hiak...

The 'construction site'... with Miss Supervisor's supervision

So slow... why is it taking so long?

Miss Supervisor is getting listless...

Finally!!! I shall try it out first since Frankie is busy now...

I LIKE THIS COZY BED!

The "Headache" Is BACK!

Oh no... some red spots were spotted on Frankie's body recently! In fact more were found this morning! To add more to MM's headache, Frankie scratched himself badly after the bath yesterday. Poor Frankie... his body is like an abstract painting with red marks, red dots and red rash now. Though red means auspicious in CNY's context, Frankie in red is BAD NEWS to us! Could it be a detoxing effect after all (after three months on BARF) or could it due to the oatmeal shampoo?

What had actually caused that? What would happen to Frankie? Can someone pls enlighten us? For now, we can only confirm - the BIG headache is back! :((
